Gaétan Picon, the pioneer behind the renowned liqueur, was a Frenchman born in Italy in 1809. From the very start, his life was destined for great adventures, shaped by the art of distillation and the allure of exploration. Following his apprenticeship in Marseille, Toulon and Aix-en-Provence, he ventured into the world as an infantry horseman in North Africa.
 


Fueled by knowledge and camaraderie, Gaétan Picon gave life to an extraordinary bitter liqueur in 1837, now known as Picon. Distilled from dried oranges, dried Gentian roots, and Cinchona bark, masterfully blended with a hint of caramel, Picon quickly earned accolades from its friends who sensed its untapped potential, with its unique harmony of flavors and intense, unrivaled character.
